Welcome to my blog! I have never been a book worm and have always found myself to be a creative from a very young age. I feel this platform is the best way of sharing my personal development and creativity - so welcome! In the past month or so I have been fortunate to gain work experience working from home with Daisy Whittaker who is a Interior Designer with a range of experience who has most recently adventured into taking the big step on opening her own business. I would like to give you a small insight by sharing her story.

" I have always had a passion for design and this platform and was thrilled to secure a place to study a BA Hons Interior Design degree, having completed a two-year course at South Essex College on 3D Design and being awarded a Distinction*.
During my studies, I worked for the leading British luxury yacht manufacturer – Princess Yachts, where I gained invaluable experience in high-end marine design and interiors. This involved designing for small spaces requiring minute precision where every millimetre counts. I enjoyed meeting clients, building a friendly rapport, working with suppliers, and attending design shows. I regularly visited Chelsea Harbour to select new fabrics and materials for the studio, further developing my technical knowledge.
Towards the end of my studies, I had the opportunity to stage an exhibition at the London OXO Tower for the general public and leading industry experts which gained a record-breaking number of attendees.
I graduated from the University of Arts London with a 1st class Honours degree in Interior Design and immediately secured a Junior Designer role with the world-renowned designer Kelly Hoppen Interiors. I loved this challenging role and developed my skills alongside some top senior designers and their teams. I was able to work closely with Ms Hoppen, meeting clients and designing for international residential properties. Since then, I have become a part-time University Lecturer for Interior Design, enabling me to connect with new students and explore new styles of design.
Having gained so much invaluable experience, it was a natural progression for me to start my own Interior Design business in 2020. I am able to develop close, personal relationships with all of my clients and love being able to transform their homes with them".
Whilst assisting Daisy, I will be focusing on 3 main projects:

A new build in Brentwood, Essex

A new build in Vale Do Lobo, Portugal

A new build in Beaulieu, Chelmsford
My main tasks will be creating CAD plans, including electrical and furniture layouts, as well as Sketch-Up models, FF&E Schedules, and procuring decoration items. I’ll be asking her to double-check sanitaryware schedules and also order duplicate samples for my studio.
